Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 4 July 2025
1. General Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to all purchases of products made by consumers on the Mediterranean Boutique I/S webshop. By placing an order, you accept these terms. The agreement is exclusively governed by Danish law, including the Danish Sale of Goods Act (Købeloven).
- Company: Mediterranean Boutique I/S
- CVR: 45706435
- Address: Ørestads Boulevard 42A, 3. tv., 2300 Copenhagen S, Denmark

2. Purchase and Ordering of Products
An order is not legally binding until you receive an order confirmation/receipt from us via email.
- Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years old to purchase from our site.
- Product Variations: Many of our offerings, including olive oil and other artisanal foods, are natural agricultural products. Because of this, slight variations in color, texture, cloudiness, or flavor profile may occur between batches or harvests. These natural variations are expected and do not constitute a product defect.
- Product Information & Nutritional Facts: Mediterranean Boutique I/S acts solely as a retailer. All product details, including ingredients, nutritional values, allergen warnings, and dietary claims, are provided by the original producers or manufacturers. While we strive to ensure the information on our website is accurate, we rely on the producers for this data. Customers must always read the physical labels, warnings, and instructions provided on the product packaging before consumption.
- Payment: Prices are stated in DKK and include Danish VAT (moms). The payment is deducted from your account when you place your order.
3. Delivery and Shipping Damages
We use PostNord for all our deliveries.
- Delivery Time: Our typical delivery timeframe is 3–5 business days.
- Risk: We bear the risk for the products until they are handed over to you.
- Damaged Goods: Olive oil is shipped in fragile glass packaging. If your package arrives visibly damaged or leaking, please refuse the delivery or take photos of the unopened box immediately and contact our customer service at info@medboutique.dk.
4. Right of Withdrawal and Returns (Fortrydelsesret)
No Right of Withdrawal for Food: In accordance with the Danish Consumer Contracts Act (Forbrugeraftaleloven), the standard 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to the purchase of food, beverages, or other goods for household consumption.
Policy: Because our products are consumable food items, all purchases are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges of any food or beverage products, even if the original packaging is completely unopened. This strict policy is in place to guarantee the highest health, safety, and hygiene standards for all our customers.
(Note: If we introduce non-food items to our catalog in the future, such as kitchenware or ceramics, the standard 14-day return right will naturally apply to those specific non-food items).
5. Complaints and Warranty (Reklamationsret)
The Danish Sale of Goods Act applies to your purchase, granting you a 24-month right of complaint from the receipt of the goods.
- Limitation: For food items like olive oil, the right of complaint is naturally limited to the product's stated shelf life (holdbarhedsdato) and assumes the product has been stored correctly (e.g., in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight).
- Valid Claims: If the oil is spoiled well before the expiry date, or if the manufacturer's seal was broken upon arrival, please contact us at info@medboutique.dk within a reasonable time (usually within 2 months of discovering the defect). We will replace or refund the item depending on the situation. Do not throw the bottle away before contacting us, as we may request photos or ask for the product to be returned at our expense.
6. Protection of Personal Data
To fulfill your order, we need to collect your name, address, phone number, and email. This data is handled in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and our Privacy Policy.
7. Dispute Resolution
If you wish to complain about your purchase, please contact our customer service first at info@medboutique.dk. If we cannot find a solution, you can lodge a complaint with the Danish Dispute Resolution Institute (Nævnenes Hus) at www.naevneneshus.dk, provided the conditions for this are met. You can also use the EU Commission's online dispute resolution platform (ODR) at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
8. Force Majeure
Mediterranean Boutique I/S shall not be liable for failure to fulfil its obligations where such failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, fire, flooding, war, terrorism, strikes, government action, pandemics, or supply chain disruptions. In such cases we will notify you as soon as possible and offer an appropriate remedy, including cancellation and full refund of your order where applicable.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with Danish law. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or your order that cannot be resolved amicably shall be submitted to the Danish courts, with the Copenhagen City Court (Københavns Byret) as the court of first instance.
10. Changes to Terms and Conditions
We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time. The terms applicable to your purchase will be those in effect at the exact time you placed your order.
